Is Chiropractic Care Covered By Medicare?

Back Care Chiropractic Clinic is also a provider for Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) programs where patients are referred by their General Practitioner for a program of chiropractic assessment and treatment.

Under this care plan, Medicare will provide limited up to 5 chiropractic consultations per calendar year, rebating you approximately $50 each visit.

Please note there will be an out of pocket expense for this service.

To receive this program you must visit your General Practitioner GP and have an EPC plan prepared.

We are also available to assist with WorkCover and DVA.

Please ensure you bring your referral, WorkCover claim number or DVA claim number, along with any relevant documentation, such as documents stating approval for Chiropractic care, and other necessary paperwork for your appointment.

A warm welcome is number one on our list; we know only too well that you are likely to be a little apprehensive at your first visit to a chiropractor; not knowing what to expect can often make any of us a little nervous. However, with Back Care Chiropractic Clinic the moment you enter our warm, friendly environment you will be made to feel totally at ease.

Once your new patient forms are completed, the Chiropractor will take a comprehensive history to collect relevant information and conduct comprehensive physical examination to investigate your spine with Chiropractic.

This include postural assessment, range of movement evaluation, palpation (feeling the problem areas), muscle tests and orthopedic tests.

If necessary, the Chiropractor may also refer you for x-rays to provide more detailed information about a specific condition.

Once all diagnostic procedures are completed,
combining all this information gives us a clearer picture to be able to deliver the best possible recommendations for your health and commence your care if it is appropriate to do so.

If chiropractic care is the right choice for you, Chiropractor may give you your first adjustment.

You can be confident that, before this happens, we will talk to you about your proposed care, the available alternatives and any potential risks associated with our recommendations.

The more you understand about the chiropractic process, the better the results are likely to be.

You will have the opportunity to question and discuss your case and communicate your health goals so we can understand your priorities.

Your Chiropractor will make specific recommendations as to the most appropriate action to take in correcting your condition. This will include the scheduling frequency of adjustments, and may involve some home care recommendations and exercises also to help stabilise your specific spinal problem.

Like attending the gym and improving fitness, each chiropractic visit builds on the one before, so it is important to maintain your care schedule. Always raise any concerns you have immediately with your chiropractor, rather than making uninformed choices and so compromising your care
